Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistantship (1A)
post in the Department of Mathematics, for a period of up to 18 months,
starting as soon as possible.
The post is to work with Dr Guy Nason and Professor Bernard Silverman,
FRS on an EPSRC-funded project on Novel Wavelet methods in Statistics.
We are interested in exploring and expanding wavelet theory and
methodology in time series analysis, curve estimation, Bayesian
nonparametrics and image analysis and in several application areas such
as biomedicine, industrial inspection and control, environmental, video
compression amongst others.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in statistics, or have a similar
research record. Good computational skills are desirable.
