MRC-funded Advanced Course Studentship
MSc in Epidemiology
Department of Public Health Sciences, University of Edinburgh
Two studentships will be awarded for MSc in Epidemiology, one for
the session commencing October 2001, the other for the
session commencing October 2002.
The MSc in Epidemiology course was designed to address the
training requirements for health research and for contemporary
public health. It was launched in October 1995, and has proved
successful and popular. MSc Epidemiology is fully integrated
within the University of Edinburgh’s well-established Postgraduate
Programme in Public Health Sciences, which averages
about 40 students per year.
The course is suitable for graduates in: sociology, social policy,
anthropology, nursing, health economics, psychology, statistics,
biology, medicine or health sciences.

The MRC-funded studentship is open to UK or EU students. It
covers tuition fees, and for UK students only also provides a
maintenance stipend of £6700.
Application forms for the studentship will be sent to all UK or EU
students who have already applied for MSc Epidemiology
for October 2001. Anyone else who wishes to compete for the
studentship for October 2001 should complete the studentship
application form and submit it at the same time as applying for a
place on MSc Epidemiology.
