ROYAL STATISTICAL SOCIETY, RESEARCH SECTION
HALF-DAY MEETING ON STATISTICAL GENETICS
CALL FOR PAPERS
The Research Section of the Royal Statistical Society is planning
a half-day extended ordinary meeting on STATISTICAL MODELLING AND
ANALYSIS OF GENETIC DATA. The aim is to bring together statisticians
and quantitiative biological or biomedical scientists working in this
exciting area.
In the tradition of RSS Ordinary Meetings, papers presented at the
meeting will be published in JRSS, with discussion.
Possible topics of particular interest to the meeting organisers
include, but are not restricted to, the following:
. statistical analysis of micro-array data
. modelling and inference for phylogenetic trees
. genetic epidemiology
. statistical approaches to sequencing
The meeting is planned to take place in London in May 2002.
Key deadlines are the following:
. authors who wish to present a paper must submit a single-page
abstract by 31 March 2001
. authors of selected abstracts will then be invited to submit
a full paper of about 10 to 15 journal pages by 31 August 2001
. papers will be subject to refereeing, with feedback to authors
by 30 November 2001
. final versions of accepted papers will be required by 31
January 2002.
