RESEARCH STATISTICIAN IN HIV/AIDS

Applications are invited for the position of research assistant in medical
statistics within the Department of Primary Care and Population
Sciences. The post is for two years, with a strong possibility of renewal
for another two, and the successful applicant will join a team managing and
analysing data from several large cohort studies and clinic databases of
people with HIV infection and working on the design, conduct and analysis
of new trials and studies. In addition to performing analyses, this will
involve cleaning and checking on data and liaising directly with HIV
clinicians and laboratory scientists both locally and
internationally. Applicants should have a good first degree with an MSc in
Medical Statistics or equivalent. Experience in the analysis of large,
epidemiological datasets and of survival analysis would be an
advantage. There will be an opportunity to study for a PhD.
Salary is on the University Research Scale (RA1A scale between points 4-6;
£18,909 - £20,865, including London Weighting) and this post is available
immediately. Starting point and grade will be dependent on age,
qualifications and experience.
