Prize for best MSc project in Medical Statistics

Amgen, in association with ASLU (The Association of Statistics Lecturers in
Universities) will be awarding a prize for the best MSc project in Medical
Statistics.
There will be a cash prize of £150 for the student and £150 for the project
supervisor. If the project is done by a group of students, then the £150
prize (for the student) will be split equally amongst the group members.
Eligibility:
The student must be registered on a full or part-time course in a
mathematics or statistics department at a recognised university or higher
education establishment within the UK.
Each university department may submit one MSc project. Projects should be
typed and printed on A4 paper. Projects will not be returned to the student
/ university.
The project must be the work of the student and it must be written in
English.
The project should cover any aspect of medical statistics or clinical
trials.
The winning project will be selected by a panel of independent
statisticians. Their decision will be final and binding. The criteria
against which the projects will be judged are:
1) the student's capacity for independent thought
2) the integrity of the methodology and theory
3) applicability of results
4) impact in terms of novelty and communication
