The 7th Edinburgh Clinical Trial Management Course
(ECTMC)
30 January to 1 February 2002
This three day course has been running since 1994 and is
recognised by the UK Medical Research Council. ECTMC
focuses primarily on efficient management of randomised
controlled trials (RCT), but also covers some aspects of
trial design.
The course is a mixture of lectures and small group
workshops. Its practical approach takes participants step
by step through all stages of a well-run trial.

The rational of RCTs
How to get from idea to trial
Ethical requirements for a clinical trial
Involving consumers
Designing trial materials that work
Managing data effectively
Methods of randomisation
Preparing and managing a realistic trial budget
Fees: This course costs £400 per delegate and includes
lunches, refreshments, an evening reception and course
dinner.
