MSc in Applied Stochastic Systems: Statistical Science for Medicine,
Industry and Technology
This course provides a broadly based and up-to-date training in the major
applications of statistical science and the basic concepts of probability
and statistics. The compulsory and optional course units are described at:
http://www.ucl.ac.uk/stats/studinfo/prospect/pgprospect.html
There are still places available to study full or part-time from September
2001. Sponsorship by the pharmaceutical industry means that some funding for
maintenance and/or fees is available but applications to be considered for
this must be received imminently. Entrants to the MSc programme should have
a good Honours degree in a quantitative subject, a real interest in the
quantitative approach to scientific investigation and problem-solving, and
some previous exposure to mathematics and statistics at undergraduate level,
including reasonable familiarity with calculus, linear algebra and the basic
concepts of statistics. (Please note that students less familiar with
mathematics and statistics may apply for our Graduate Diploma in
Statistics.)
Please bring this to the attention of any interested and suitable
candidates.
More information is available at the website given above, and the
application form can be obtained from:
