Being fairly new to the list, I am impressed at the frequency with which interesting subjects are advertised at seminars, talks, etc. There are too many to hope to cover, and many are too far away for a quick trip.
The point of this email is to ask, "Do people consider that making overheads available for those who would have liked to attend the talk, but couldn't, would be a good idea ? Or has this already been addressed ?"
Perhaps, if just presenting overheads would not detract from the talk, speakers might consider posting them on the list. After the talk if this is preferred ?
This is just a thought for those willing to take it up. I know that there may be reasons for any individual talk that might mean that it's not to be considered. (I don't want a deluge of emails saying why it can't be done !)
