We are advertising a 2-year Research Associate post suitable for
a post-doctoral level statistician / epidemiologist / methodologist
with an interest in applying statistical models to routinely collected
data from psychiatric services.
A Masters graduate with at least two years relevant
experience in a research environment may also be suitable.
We have obtained funding from the NHS Executive (Eastern Region)
to develop statistical / psychometric models to maximise use and
support interpretation of the NHS Mental Health Minimum Data Set.
This data set comprises a mixture of demographic, history,
system (health care professional and context/location of care),
and service utilisation variables of mixed-measurement level
that may be amenable to cross-sectional (classification) analysis
and longitudinal (trajectory, transition or event history) modelling.
An advertisement is appended below in the body of this email.
Closing date is 17th October 2001. Start date is as soon as possible.
Please pass this advertisement on to anyone you think may be
interested.
Thanks
Tim Croudace

or Glover, G.R. (2000)
A comprehensive clinical database for mental health care in England,

This person-based data set comprises records of spells of care
and contains a mixture of data items including personal / demographic

In conjunction with history and system variables
we plan to apply cross-sectional classification analyses and
longitudinal trajectory, transition or event history modelling.
You, the successful applicant are likely to have prior experience

to modelling population heterogeneity e.g. in MLwin
You are likely to have:

2) experience of using general statistical software
(preferably Stata, SAS, Splus / R), and, 3) be prepared
