Marie Curie Fellowship Positions – Industry Host Scheme
Data Mining and Modelling
Totally committed to scientific exploration and discovery, Unilever invests
£550 million in pioneering new research so our products remain the
preferred choice, 150 million times a day.
An ideal opportunity for a recent PhD graduate to develop their career
whilst keeping their options open on whether to work in industry or
academia, we’re looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join our 2 year Marie
Curie Scheme. Delivering innovation and technology within a challenging
environment, you’ll benefit from training and development opportunities
offered to all our scientists.
A key member of our Business Science Group, you’ll be responsible for
modelling methods and data mining. Applying these techniques to sizeable
databases of consumer habits and attitudes, you’ll obtain deeper insights
into the ways different modelling methods behave, improving performance and
testing their effectiveness. We’re also interested in the use of Bayes in
this area.
Developing your own approaches and keeping up-to-date with leading-edge
research, you’ll benefit from our contacts with Imperial College and
Stanford University and state-of-the-art software such as SAS/Enterprise
miner. We also enjoy close links with the development team in Cary NC and
access to S-plus and Matlab for ad hoc work.
In addition to outstanding software training and developing commercially
valuable skills, you’ll receive a subsistence and mobility allowance. For
