Chartered Statistician (CStat) is the current equivalent of the
professional status conferred by the Institute of Statisticians, who had
three grades based on exam success (GIS), plus professional experience
(MIS), leading to eminence (FIS). The IoS exams were available worldwide,
and at one time were sat at exam centres in (as I recall) 81 countries.
Following a merger, the professional exams are still run by the RSS and
can be sat worldwide: existing MIS and FIS could ask for direct
conversion. The exams have equivalent status to "a good UK degree in
statistics".
CStat is understood to be globally recognised, even if not known.
