I have an exciting opportunity based in the UK:
Organisation
The job-holder will be a key member of the small Biostatistical
Applications group within the Department of Biostatistics and Reporting.
Line managed within Biostatistical Applications, the job holder will
primarily contribute to the goals of the multi-disciplinary pharmacometrics
team. This team includes population pharmacokineticists, dedicated support
to the preparation and presentation of data and pharmacometric
statisticians.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this job is to ensure the quality of statistical input to
pharmacometrics activities relevant to a variety of clinical projects.
Typical pharmacometric activities will include non-linear mixed effect
modelling of PK or PK/PD, the simulation of clinical trials and input to
drug development programmes.
Main Activities
The job holder will be accountable for ensuring the quality of statistical
input to pharmacometrics activities relevant to a variety of clinical
projects. This will require close liaison with members of the clinical
project team to ensure an integrated approach through pharmacometrics and
traditional statistical activities. The role will include statistical
consultancy with the clinical modelling & simulation team and
pharmacometrics consultancy with the clinical project team.
The job holder may perform pharmacometric tasks directly or may supply
statistical support to those performing these tasks. Pharmacometric tasks
will include:
non-linear mixed effect modelling of PK or PK/PD;
expressing research questions as probabilistic statements to be explored or
quantified;
simulating individual trials or groups of trials to answer these research
questions.
Working as part of the multidisciplinary pharmacometric team, more emphasis
in this role will be given to the latter two activities.
The job holder will promote, and educate others in, the use of
pharmacometric techniques within Biostatistics and Reporting, the clinical
project teams.
The job holder will be encouraged to share their statistical expertise and
experience with other members of Biostatistics and Reporting as appropriate
and to contribute to the statistical life of the department.
