Medical Statistician / Senior Medical Statistician
£21,020 - £32,215 per annum (depending on experience)
The Northern and Yorkshire Clinical Trials and Research Unit at the University of Leeds is a leader in the field of clinical trials. The Unit conducts national and international randomised clinical trials in a variety of clinical fields and has an associated research portfolio.
As a result of grant application success we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join a team of four statisticians supporting the Unit's work on clinical trials. You will be involved in a wide range of statistical activities, including funding applications, design, conduct and analysis of clinical trials and general consulting to health professionals in the Northern and Yorkshire region. You may contribute to the supervision of two Statisticians.
Depending on experience, you may initiate and lead a programme of research associated with clinical trials in the area of complex health technologies (e.g. surgery) with opportunities for PhD supervision or enrolment.
Applicants should be able to work well within a multidisciplinary team (trial co-ordinators, health professionals, programmers), have excellent communication skills, a postgraduate qualification in Statistics and preferably relevant experience.
The appointment is on a three year fixed term contract in the first instance.
