It would be helpful if the SLC provided guidance on this
issue rather than have us all running around in the dark.
Sadly, it depends on who you speak to at the SLC and some
Loans Admin staff are trying to sort the situation out
regarding individual students rather than usually
instructing us to use the heihelp e-mail service.
If the SLC are reading this, we would like guidance NOW.

However, many of the students have their payment schudule from the SLC with dates inside the winter break(i.e. 27th of December), and many have been told by the SLC that their cheques have been sent, and have arrived. Therefore some payments are going into their bank accounts before their cheques have arrived here. Isn't that defeating the whole object of cheques?

Also we have had a couple of cheques cancelled by SLC which had no reason to be. Students are saying they cannot get through to SLC and only get recorded messages which are not always relevant to their queries. When I mentioned this to SLC thay said if a student ignores all the messages and just keep hanging on they will eventually have their call answered by an operator
