Colleagues,
I haven't seen a survey of members of this discussion group for a while and
wondered whether there were any views on flexi-time abiding in subscribers
hearts.
I would be interested to know:
i. whether your institution operates flexi-time;
ii. if so, what the main features are and how the policy is monitored
(e.g. what are the core hours and what is the maximum time you can accrue);
iii. whether, even anecdotally, the operation of flexi-time has a negative
effect on productivity;
iv. whether there are any observations on the extent of sick leave
(increased, decreased or the same) discernible since introducing
flexi-time; and
vi whether there is a place for flexi-time in registries and what the
positive features are.
Just before the storm of enrolment reached inland, I thought I'd see if I
could steal a few moments of your time to get a feel for what is going on
out there. I have worked in offices with flexi-time outside HE, but the 3
registries I have worked in have not operated on this basis. How goes it
sector-wide?
Diolch/thanks,
Paul
