Teaching and Learning Conference
THEME: Tertiary Teaching and Learning: Dealing with Diversity
July 9 - 12 2001

The conference will bring together a wide variety of people involved in
the tertiary education sector. Sub-themes will deal with aspects of
teaching and learning such as the diversity of learners, the changing
nature of teaching and learning, globalisation, cross-cultural issues,
new methods and approaches and the application of technology.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Send us an abstract of your proposal before May 11 2001. Please refer
to the website for the guidelines for written papers. Submissions
should include:

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Professor Terry Evans Director of Research, Faculty of Education, Deakin
University. Terry is an internationally prominent teacher and
researcher, the author of numerous books and articles covering a broad
range of issues in education, including distance and open learning.
Ellie Chambers
Senior Lecturer, Institute of Educational Technology, UK Open
University. Ellie is co-author of 'The Arts Good Study Guide'.
Andrew Northedge
Senior Lecturer, School of Health and Social Welfare, UK Open
University. Andrew is author of 'The Good Study Guide' and co-author of
'The Arts Good Study Guide'.
Leesa Wheelahan
Lecturer, Centre for Educational Development and Support, Victoria
University of Technology. Leesa is the author of 'Bridging the Divide'
which deals with the links between TAFE and Higher Education.
Peter Veenker
Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Canberra Institute of
Technology.
Darwin in July is warm but not hot and dry. There is a great deal to see
