JMU Access Partnership is the UK's leading Access Consultancy. In response
to an increasing demand for our services we are seeking two Access
Consultants to join our team, one in Transport (temporary 2 year post), one
in Buildings and Streets (permanent), based in either our London or one of
our regional offices.
Reporting to a Senior Access Consultant, improving access to the built
environment, and public transport vehicles and infrastructure for disabled
people is your key objective. You will do this by working with architects,
developers, local authorities, transport providers and the transport
industry, in fact all those involved with managing or developing buildings,
transport systems and infrastructure or the street environment.
You will provide technical advice, access audits, and recommend practical
and informed access solutions and have an appreciation of the access
implications of the Disability Discrimination Act (1995).
With a relevant degree, possibly from a construction related or design
background, the ability to communicate technical information to
non-technical people is essential, while experience of meeting the design
needs of disabled people is highly desirable.
