this is excellent timing from my point of view because I have been trying to
get the idea of smart card technology being incorporated into Blue Badges to
help avoid abuse of parking spaces for disabled people, also my response to
the Welsh Assembly's consultation on the Welsh Transport Framework was
largely to do with making the point that disabled people are not being
consulted BEFORE designing low floor buses or accessible toilets etc and the
documents that you attached express support for the notion that it is
inappropriate to use young and fit wheelchair athletes with good upper body
strength as the model for design purposes, because it leads to 'accessible'
facilities that are only accessible to people who fit that profile
