hi Marcus
I was involved in the trials of this or a similar system while on guide dog
training in teh summer of 1995.
the main discussion on such systems seems to be, do you have them speak
outloud, some people feel this draws attention to them, something they don't
want, although that depends rather on the message I suppose "platform 5" is
a more universal message than say "turn left in 5 paces to find platform 8"
what were the messages like on the leeds system?
alternatively do you have the user held part of the system deliver the
messages.
this is more technically difficult and more expensive.
overall.
what I wonder do the people have leeds have to do to get an activator or
whatever the word is.
and how about occasional visitors, I'm off to leeds station this thursday
but, it would seem won't be able to benefit from this system useful though
it sounds.
