Would anyone on the list - or anyone else that you know of - be prepared to
share data they have on their workforce in relation to Hand Arm Vibration
Syndrome.
The Environment Agency has an emergency workforce of approx 1600 (out of
10,400) across England and Wales, 3/4 of whom regularly use strimmers, brush
cutters, chainsaws and mowers.
Having set up a National OH Service in 1999, we saw 1179 employees during the
winter of 1999/2000. We are surveying this year by a combination of OH
Adviser "hands on" - pardon the pun - examinations and postal questionnaires.
I would be very interested in
a) benchmarking our data against others;
b) interested on how others have managed large HAVS programmes;
c) interested in whether anyone else has had success using postal
questionnaires.
d) interested to know the extent that others have used objective testing.
Many thanks
