Dear All - we have a fantastic job for a senior OHN-manager in the University of Oxford OHS. (Vacancy has arisen because the current postholder is moving sideways to a P/T special projects post.) It is currently Whitley "I" but the possibility of upgrading is under discussion (no commitment can be made). Very interesting work in a high-profile university in a lovely city. The team is small at present but I am working hard on building up the service and am looking for a senior colleague to help me take this forward.
Job will be advertised in "Occupational Health" on 2 November (see below). Interested people please contact me on [log in to unmask]
Best wishes - Kate

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE
Senior Occupational Health Nurse-Manager
Currently Whitley Council I £26,780 - £30,775 (under review)
We are looking for an experienced and well-qualified senior OH nurse to manage the University OHS, under the leadership of the University Occupational Physician, and to take the lead in OH nursing issues as the service evolves during a period of change for the University. The University has a varied research portfolio and heterogeneous working cultures, making the work of the OHS stimulating and varied. The OHS provides a specialist advisory service at all levels of the University and covers the University's 8,000 staff, its students, and a small number of external contracts. The OHS has 4 nurses (including this post), 4 doctors (3 P/T consultants and a spR), 3 administrative staff, and is bringing in a staff counselling service. It has well-equipped premises in an attractive Victorian building, shared with the University Safety Office, in central Oxford.
Applicants must have at least 5 years of substantial and varied OH experience, preferably in the public and private sectors, with a recognised OH qualification, preferably at Master's level. We are looking for excellent communication and influencing skills and an orderly, pro-active, positive, and highly professional approach. We are bringing in a new OH database and will expect applicants to be familiar with common computer applications. Some experience in managing OH nurses and administrative staff will be an advantage. The University has excellent libraries and staff development courses. Car parking is available and the University operates a contributory pension scheme and can provide advice about child care provision.
