NEWS RELEASE 23rd August 2001
PRACTICAL ADVICE ON PROTECTING
YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS FROM FIRE
Protecting your home or office from the risk of fire must be a high priority
for anyone and there is an opportunity to benefit from practical advice on
this incendiary subject at the next monthly meeting of the Forest
Occupational Health & Safety Group on Tuesday 4th September 2001, at the
Ashwells Sports and Country Club at 2.00pm.
Douglas Hay of the Fire, First Aid and Safety Consortium is the speaker and
he will be taking the audience through a comprehensive study of the subject
from the very basic level of simple precautions you can take at home before
you go to bed at night, right through to the mechanics of making a fire risk
assessment. Mr Hay says: "A fire risk assessment is something we can all do
and my presentation will include some guidance on how to go about it. I
also want to give the audience some really good practical hints that they
can take away with them and put into practice both at home and at work.".
The monthly meetings are open to non-members of the Forest Group. Anyone
wishing to attend should contact Margaret Steggle at the Group's Secretarial
Business Centre on 01992-814354. Ashwells Sports and Country Club is in
Ashwells Road, Bentley.
The aims and objectives of the Forest Group are to improve standards in
occupational health and safety in industry and commerce. The Group believes
that the best way to achieve this is through training, seminars and
consultation with senior practitioners in the relevant specialisms affecting
the working environment.
