Jeremy, don't let the side down mate!! OHN's are doing it for themselves
these days!!
I work in an OH team of OHN's with no OHP - this is highly effective and we
arrange specialist referrals as necessary. I have a reciprocal clinical
supervision arrangement with a colleague outside of my organisation. Are you
working in isolation there? Have you set up any supervsion for yourself? You
will know that this can be done in groups or one to one and can be by any
qualified colleague - can be an OHP if you prefer but equally can be OHN (or
other nursing specialist if you wish).
All that matters is that you remain professionally competent and have
adequate support for your practice and yourself. I find supervsion meetings
are part professional and part personal development which suits me well. If
you need any more info, try RCN or AOHNP (UK) websites
or drop another note to the discussion group - I am sure you could adopt a
supervisor from the gpoup if needed? No reason why it can't be done
virtually maybe?? Jane.
