NEWS RELEASE 25th June 2001
IS YOUR WORKPLACE TOO RISKY?
Businesses in East Anglia will be able to take advantage of some practical
guidance assessing risk in the workplace from leading training consultant,
Paul Laidler, who will be the main speaker at the Forest O H & Safety Group'
s monthly meeting at Ashwells Sports and Country Club at 2.00pm on Tuesday
3rd July.
Mr Laidler will be supported by presentations from Anthony Groves of OCE
Group Ltd and Helen Bale of the London Borough of Bexley. Mr Groves will be
looking at the mechanics of risk assessment, which can be done for anything
from operating a lap top to working major machinery in a factory. Ms Bale
will look at the interpretation of risk assessment reports. Risk assessment
is a crucially important aspect of occupational health and safety because so
many useful lessons can learnt from such an analysis, which can lead to
improved productivity and safety in the workplace.
The monthly meetings are open to non-members of the Forest Group. Anyone
wishing to attend should contact Margaret Steggle at the Group's Secretarial
Business Centre on 01992-814354. Ashwells Sports and Country Club is in
Ashwells Road, Bentley.
The aims and objectives of the Forest Group are to improve standards in
occupational health and safety in industry and commerce. The Group believes
that the best way to achieve this is through training, seminars and
consultation with senior practitioners in the relevant specialisms affecting
the working environment.
