The Institute of Information Scientists presents a seminar on "Successful
knowledge management through the use of classification and metadata". An
earlier event was oversubscribed at the IIS Open Day incorporating Members'
Day last year, and this seminar is offered to give another opportunity to
consider these issues.
Derek Sturdy is the Managing Director of Granite and Comfrey, and a leader
in innovative ideas for managing knowledge and information in the electronic
age. Subjects covered will include:-
The KM value proposition
Understanding and dealing with metadata
Mark up languages and tagging
Maximising the value of tagging
The event will be chaired by Una Byrne, Consultant with Sue Hill Recruitment
and Services, formerly Knowledge Manager at Diageo.
