Here's a post I just placed on my weblog that might be of interest.
News Search from AllTheWeb Now Online--
A few new services from AllTheWeb are now available. Here is a quick
orientation to get you started.
1) Near Real-Time News Indexing of web-based material. You can access news
content either from the main search interface where a keyword search will
return a few hits (if available) in a gray box at top of results list or
DIRECTLY from the News Search interface.
Demo Search:
http://www.alltheweb.com/search?cat=web&lang=any&query=%22anthrax%22
2) Each result link includes the approximate time the link and content was
indexed.
3) The Advanced NEWS Search permits you to limit by type of news source
(e.g. International, Business, Sports).
4) You can also limit the news search engine to the approximate time the
material was indexed (last two hours though the last week).
5) I was unable to find a complete list of all of the news sites ATW is
crawling. A few test searches provided links from CNN, BBC, The Atlanta
Journal
Constitution, and The Economist.
6) Debut of FAST Topics (Beta).
A keyword search on the main database will return relevant categories from
Fast Topics (material from Open Directory Project).
7) New: The Advanced Interface (main search database) now allows you to
limit your search by page size (bytes, kilobytes, megabytes).
cheers,
gary
