The so called war against terrorism is merely a means by which imperialism can hope
to improve capitalist profitability in period when because of the contradictions of
capitalism it is growing increasingly difficult for the bourgeoisie to struggle
against the the tendency of the general rate of profit to fall. This war is merely a
strategic device to intensify its oppression of the global masses and introduce
conditions that facilitate increase in the intensity and the rate of exploitation of
labour power.
To mount a war against terrorism in the way that it is described is merely a
rhetorical cover. Terrorism is a product of the growing capitalist contradictions. It
is a product of the brutal conditions under which the Afghani, Pakistani, Indian and
Colombian masses live. It can never be eradicated. However it may be possible through
state terror and by other imperialist means to reduce its scale. Having said that it
must be remembered that much terror, including the state terror of the imperialist
states, is encouraged by imperialism to achieve certain aims. The CIA funded and
trained the group led by Osama Binladen.
The only effective way to fight terror is to fight for communism. This entails
fighting for a communist working class movement. The more the active the working
class and the more communist it becomes the more diminished the conditions for the
existence of many of the current forms of reactionary terror.
