I am trying to answer a few _simple_ questions that I have been asked
by various academics about BlackBoard, but as the BlackBoard site
seems to be up the spout at the moment (most of the pdf documents seem
to have been moved - and are returning 404 file not found) I thought
I'd ask the questions here (probably more likely to get the right
answer anyway ;-)
1. Once a student has been enrolled on a course, how do you ensure
that they only have one Bb ID when they are subsequently enrolled on
another course site? Is it just a matter of using the same user ID?
2. In relation to above, does the students homepage travel with them
across course sites or do they have to make a new one for every
course?
3. Ditto for staff enrolment and information?
4. What (if any) are the main differences between the free course
sites and local installation? Is setting up a course done in the same
way? How much customisation is possible? Is this documented somewhere?
We would like to be able to customise the information that has to be
provided during the initial set up process.
5. Can someone explain whether there are any problems using Bb on a
Mac (for an end user that is)? This was mentioned re. the 5.5 upgrade.
