Stephen,
I asked this question a couple of weeks ago and was offered much
valuable advice. [Many thanks to all who offered suggestions.] You can do
what you want to do in Blackboard, but the system is cumbersome. The best
piece of advice that I was given came from several people and was
"There is a third-party tool called Respondus (www.respondus.com) that
addresses this and related issues. It allows you to "retrieve" an exam or
survey from a Blackboard course and upload it to another course. All
questions remain in the same order--even the media files (eg., images,
audio) that were included in the exam or survey are maintained. I paid
around $60 USD for the software; I think it's possible to download a
fully-functional version on a 30-day trial. (I use Respondus primarily for
the equation editor--it's the BEST way to deal with math and science symbols
in Blackboard--but I've also used it to move a couple of exams from one
course to another.)"
I have now tested this and it works. If I had had it when I put a survey
into 25 courses, it would have save a full person day's work.
I'm not in their pay, but I would advise you to use the 30 day trial to
export/import your surveys and then decide for yourself.
Regards,
Bruce

Subject: Importing pre-existing surveys
Hello again to all of you!
I have one last Question before i retire for some much needed sleep this
weekend.
If i have already created a survey in one course, can i import it into
newly created courses, or indeed repeat it in a particular course but
change it so that the survey can represent about 20 different courses (ie
course evaluation forms)?
