Hi folks,
Here's an oldie but goodie on heart reversal in Ciona intestinalis by
Mahlon Kriebel who was a graduate student with me at Univ. of Washington.
He found that intracardiac pressure affected the pacemakers and could be
adjusted so that reversals were abolished. "Small changes in the
intracardiac pressure or blood volume altered beat frequency and the
duration of a pulsation series." Further conclusions can be found in the
paper.
