STUDY OPPORTUNITIES IN RUSSIA
Academic Year 2001-2002 and Summer 2002
Welcome to the 2001-2002 Academic Year at SRAS. Over the past year, we
have seen the Russian economy grow and Russia take a strong role again in
world politics. All of this leads to increased career opportunities in and
related to Russia. We strongly encourage gaining in-country experience early
and frequently during your studies and invite you to join us in Russia this
year. Some of the new and exciting programs we are preparing to launch this
year include the following:
a.. RSL+
b.. Summer Seminars
c.. New options in Art History, Medicine, Journalism, and other
subjects
d.. Language Immersion in Russian villages
Over the next months, we will be sending you details about these and
other new opportunities as well as passing on to you information we come
across related to study and careers in the Russian market. As always, we
welcome your comments and questions.
RSL and RSL+
RSL is intensive Russian language study in several cities across
Russia and is available to students of all levels of Russian language
ability. If you are an intermediate student or higher, you might want to
consider RSL+ which allows you to add a special focus topic to your base RSL
study. This is a great way to increase the number of credits available for
transfer and to learn another subject in depth in Russian. Summer Seminars
During summer 2002 we will be offering again a range of seminars.
These seminars are conducted in English and look at business, politics,
journalism, and culture in Russia today. This year's seminars will be
structured to coordinate with summer RSL student schedules. Contact us for
more information on these programs.
Careers in Russia
A September 4 article in the Financial Times (UK) presents an
encouraging picture of how developments in the Russian economy is increasing
demand for foreign labor. If you would like us to email you this article,
