I don't know if anyone else hereabouts heard this, but last night BBC Radio
3's 'Night Waves' programme included a cameo slot by John Kinsella, in which
he talked about the liaison he finds between poetry and sleeplessness.
Without wishing to summarize his compelling talk, I'd prefer a dialogue with
another who had heard the broadcast, I was interested in the way his figure
reverses the Romantic association of Poetry and Sleep, and with it too of
course Dreaming, which seemed intriguingly apt for this time of the late in
the gone century, early in the new.
