We have been here before, as is unamiably documented in VeRT. It certainly
doesn't add to the openness of a list to feel that comments you post there
will be willy-nilly exploited for the self-interested personal advancement
of individual members.
It's less a matter of copyright than common decency. List archives are
available for all to see -- tendentious reworkings of list-threads published
out of the context of the list as a whole are a different matter.
