I have a beautiful child, her form
like golden flowers, beloved Kleis
whom I would not trade for all of Lydia
or lovely...
Just because she wrote it, doesn't mean she had a daughter (since when
has poetry been evidence for historical biography?). Though the passion
in it runs true to my experience of having a daughter.
