Can I suggest your students look at the Met Office web pages on tropical
cyclones http://www.metoffice.com/sec2/sec2cyclone/sec2cyclone.html
particularly the monthly bulletins,
http://www.metoffice.com/sec2/sec2cyclone/tcbulletin.html which are
available on-line back to mid-1995. I suspect that anything earlier than
that will only be available on paper. You should also check the Regional
Specialised Met Centre for tropical cyclone forecasting in the area, which
is based in the Fiji Meteorological Service http://www.met.gov.fj/
