ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN PHYSICS 
At the Physics Division of the Faculty of Science and Technology,
Uppsala University

The successful applicant is expected to conduct experimental or 
theoretical research of his/her choice in any of the fields of 
physics being represented at the Physics Division. 
Those fields are: 

astrophysics, observational astrophysics, space physics,
 plasma physics, material physics, electron spectroscopy,
molecular surface physics, atomic- and molecular physics, surface 
physics, condensed matter physics, quantum chemistry, nuclear physics, 
applied nuclear physics, elementary particle physics, and theoretical
physics. 

The research associate is expected to participate in the supervision 
of PhD students and is invited to participate in the regular teaching. 

Period of appointment:  4 years, starting not earlier than September
2001. 

Eligibility and criteria for ranking: A completed PhD degree is required 
for a position as assistant professor/research associate. Priority is
given to
applicants who acquired their PhD degree within the last five years. 
In filling the position the main criterion will be the scientific
proficiency. 
Ability to teach using Swedish or English is required.

     a short written account of her/his scientific, pedagogic and 
administrative experience, 
     a list of scientific and pedagogical works that are referred to, 
     publications according to the above list. 

The written account and the list should be attested.
