I have spoken to an off line friend of mine who is particularly interested
in Atmosphic Engines. He has worked on one of the large replicas, runs a
working model of a Newcomen Engine and is trusted with the keys to the
Elsecar Engine.
My friend knows of no Savery pumps the were used commercially only of those
that were used in ornamental gardens and the like.
References to 'Thomas Savery & Newcomen' is from a deal done between those
two parties. As Savery's patent covered pumping water using fire, Newcomens
engine infringed it, thus the deal was required.
Don't forget the later 'Pulsometer Pump' is supposed to work on the same
principle as Savery's pump but is a lot later and worked off a 'modern' high
pressure boiler, not the sort of thing that was available c1695-1714.
