UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON
MENTAL ILLNESS AND ACCOUNTS OF THE MIND
Selected Papers from the Conference will be published in a special issue of
the journal _diatribe_.
One-Day Postgraduate Conference
Saturday, 3rd March 2001
Keynote Speaker: Professor Bill Fulford (Warwick)
Guest Speaker: Professor Steve Champlin (Hull)
The purpose of this conference--the third in an annual series--is to promote
philosophical discussion of issues about the nature of the mind, mental
health and illness, and the concepts involved in psychology and psychiatry.
We invite submissions of papers on mental illness, the philosophy of mind,
philosophical psychology, and the philosophy of psychiatry and
psychoanalysis. Analytically and continentally motivated submissions are
equally welcome.
Papers should be no more than twenty minutes long, and should be submitted
prepared for blind assessment--i.e., with two title pages, only one of which
should contain the author's name, contact details and academic affiliation.
Papers should be sent to Graham Stevens (e-mail: [log in to unmask]) or Geoff
Eavy (e-mail: [log in to unmask]) at the Philosophy Department, Southampton
University, SO17 1BJ.
The revised final deadline for submissions is Monday 12th February 2001.
There is no registration fee for the conference. Food can be obtained
locally at reasonable prices.
