THE HISTORY OF MEDICINE GATEWAY PROJECT, WELLCOME LIBRARY FOR THE HISTORY
AND UNDERSTANDING OF MEDICINE
The Wellcome Library for the History and Understanding of Medicine is
undertaking a project to construct a gateway to high quality Internet
resources in the History of Medicine. The service will hosted by the BIOME
hub < http://biome.ac.uk/ > and be part of the Resource Discovery Network
(RDN) < http://www.rdn.ac.uk/ >. We plan to launch this service in the
summer of 2002.
At this stage, we have yet to decide on a name for this gateway and are
running a competition to help us find one. The prize for the best
suggestion will be £25 of Amazon.co.uk vouchers.
If you can think of a suitable name, please email your suggestion and
contact details to the gateway editor, David Little <
mailto:[log in to unmask] > by 31 December 2001. We are looking for
something short, snappy and memorable with particular relevance to the
gateway's role as a portal to high quality Internet resources pertaining to
the history of medicine.
The winner will be notified by email at the beginning of January 2002.
Good luck!
