***FINAL CALL FOR PAPERS***
Global Village or Global Image?
Representing Diversity and Difference
24-27 July 2001, London, UK.
Increasingly, we are faced with the notion that media
images are part of a process of globalisation, but to what
extent are different people, places and political
viewpoints linked together? Who is being excluded from
these representations? Are we moving towards a global
village or simply a global image? This conference offers a
unique forum for addressing the above questions and
encouraging discussions examining cultural diversity and
media between internationally recognised academics, film
makers, institutions, policy makers, and the wider
community.
Key Themes:
Media, Identity and Place
Murder, (Mis)Adventure and Making News
Media, Community and Social Inclusion
