Researcher: Database / GIS developer, Ref: F/588
A database developer is required for the GeoData Institute, an environmental
research and consultancy unit within the University of Southampton. Duties
include specifying environmental and medical database applications, writing
documentation and training clients.
Applicants must have commercial development experience with MS Access
version 97 or 2000 and Visual Basic. Experience with GIS (ArcView, ArcInfo
or MapInfo), web-based database development or SQL Server would be an
advantage. Candidates should possess a degree in an Environmental or
Computing discipline.
Salary in the range £16,775 to £20,465. Appointment is for one year in the
first instance.
