GIS Support Analyst

ESRI (UK), distributors of the world’s leading Geographical Information
Systems products, have a vacancy for a high calibre GIS professional to
join our technical support team. This would be an excellent opportunity for
an enthusiastic and experienced GIS user or developer to use their
knowledge in a challenging customer support role. ESRI (UK) provides
standard ESRI products and customised GIS systems to a wide variety of UK
clients involved in public and commercial activities; including business
analysis, internet, defence, telecomm, local and central government and
environmental management.
Your role would be to deal effectively with a wide variety of users
problems, centred on the use of ArcGIS, ArcView 3, ArcIMS, Map Objects,
ArcSDE and related ESRI products.
You should have at least 1 – 2 years experience of working with either
ArcInfo, ArcGIS, ArcView, programming with Avenue or development using
Visual Basic, Visual C++ or an equivalent language. A knowledge of Windows
NT / 2000 and Windows 95/98 is required. Knowledge of UNIX and relational
database concepts is desirable. Good communication and problem solving
skills are essential, since you will be working directly with clients as
well as liasing with other members of the support team, ESRI (UK)
consultants and sales personnel.

Job Description
ESRI (UK) operates a technical support service that is available to our
customers who contact us by phone or email with a wide variety of problems.
You will be required to liaise with the customer to diagnose their problem.
Then, with your knowledge of our products and the underlying technology,
research the problem and provide a solution, workaround or explain how to
use our software to best achieve the result that the customer requires.
