BRITISH ANTARCTIC SURVEY
GIS DATA INTEGRATION TECHNICIAN (CASUAL)
You will join the Mapping and Geographic Information Centre (MAGIC) to assist in integrating new data with a topographic database of Antarctica.
This is a full-time position for a 5 month period (beginning in October/November 2001), based at the British Antarctic Survey's premises in Cambridge.
You will have work experience of using ARC/INFO. Education to at least first degree standard in a relevant subject (e.g. geography, cartography, GIS or Earth Sciences) is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in using satellite images. The post will require careful, accurate work, with great attention to detail.
The post will be in the Band 7 salary range (starting at £14,500 pa), depending on qualifications and experience.
