There seems to be an interesting case of business and social action at
www.givewater.org
It is a page hosted by Thames Water, (the water utility company providing
water to London),which has promised to give £100,000 to the charity "
Water Aid" provided the page gets 250,000 hits in 3 months. What is
particularly appealing is the fact thatI found no links that take you from
the charity page into the companies commercial pages.
Perhaps there is no need as the value of the page is the free promotions
work I (for example) am doing in spreading their name. But should we be
cynical about this?
Spending advertising budgets on charity works seems preferable to giving
it to advertising agencies.
