Fiona,
Here at Teesside we have done something similar to what you are
doing by using the group function. You can create separate groups within
the course module and the groups will see all the common material, but can
have separate pages that they will only see depending on which group they
are in. I suggest that you explore that route.
I didn't actually do it myself, but I can get the details if you
need them.

Subject: Course setup and class lists
Hi
Here in University College Dublin, I am trying to setup courses at the
moment. The thing is some identical courses are given to different classes.
For eg. I lecture Statistics to a second year class and also lecture
statistics to a different class on a different day in a different
programme. So using the exact same notes and assignments I give the classes
and want these available on Blcakboard but it does happen that they go at
different paces and announcements and e-mails for one class wouldn't apply
to another. So I ask you, is there a way to set up the courses MIS1001 and
MIS1002 for the two classes, with two different class lists but not
different lecture notes etc... Don't want to tell academics here that they
have to set up the exact same course 3 times to have three class lists. Any
solution??
Thank you, looking forward to hearing your reply.
