The Leverhulme Lectures 2001: Professor Joseph Bristow
The School of English at the University of Nottingham is pleased to
announce the first series of Leverhulme Lectures to be delivered by
Professor Joseph Bristow, from the
University of California, Los Angeles. Professor Bristow is a very
distinguished scholar whose has published widely on nineteenth- and early
twentieth-century literary and cultural
history; he has particular expertise in nineteenth-century poetry and
poetics, and in the history and theorisation of sexuality. He is currently
co-editing Oscar Wilde's The Picture
of Dorian Gray as part of the Oxford English Texts edition of The
Complete Works of Oscar Wilde, as well as completing a major study of
Victorian poetry for Cambridge
University Press. All lectures are open to the general public; for
