Hi Aejaz
Yes, it is a prportoinal one that I'm looking for.
The client has a limited amount of dexterity & uses a Deltatalker by direct
access. He also uses a standard wheelchair control mounted on the chair
arm. we would like to position the wheelchair joystick in the midline to
improve his posture, but the Deltatalker is there! I'm looking for the
easiest route to swinging things aside without degrading what he has
already. My query was so that I could swing in a small joystick above the
keyboard. An alternative might be to roll the keyboard away & have the
joystick rotate up from underneath. He might have enough arm function to
swap them himself.

Hi Barry,
Does it have to be a proportional joystick? Because there all sorts of low
profile solutions possible if you go for a switch based one.

Subject: Low profile joystick
Good Friday afternoon all
I'm looking for a low profile proportional joystick for wheelchair
driving.
Low profile because it has to swing in to the midline over a
keyboard.
All the standard remotes are too high. Farnell sell a non-contact
joystick which is 32mm below the panel - this might be small
enough, but I
don't know whether it could be used to patch in to a P&G or
Dynamics box.
Does anyone know more than this? or is there another solution
that I
haven't thought of?
