From the Secretary to the Society of Archivists Research Fund:
Applications are welcomed for research project grants from the Society's
Research Fund. The Fund exists to support research projects that seek to:
- improve and widen education, training and continuing professional
development in the archives domain
- develop and disseminate guidance on standards for archive-related
procedures and policy
- investigate and develop technical methodology for administering,
preserving and making archives accessible
- gather and disseminate information on archives and archive-related
operations.
Research project grant applications are considered if they fall within one
or more of these areas. Public and charitable organisations, alone or in
collaboration, can apply, as can Society Groups, Regions or Committees.
Individual members of the Society who wish to pursue a project grant must
get support from a Society Group, Region or Committee, through which the
application should be made.
Applications should reach the Secretary by one of two dates every year, 1st
of June and 1st of January. There will be approximately 3,500 pounds
available for an award or awards offered during the period after 1 June
this year. We are in the process of producing a leaflet describing the
Fund and how to apply and this will be distributed in due course. If you
are interested in applying for a grant and would like details of terms and
criteria, please contact:
