THE ROYAL SOCIETY
PROJECT ARCHIVIST
This is a fixed term post to 31 March 2002 based at the Royal Society
Salary scale 6 (£18819 - £25092) p.a. pro rata
We are seeking a graduate, probably a qualified archivist with an interest
in science, to work on an Access to Archives retroconversion project.
Following a successful bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund by a consortium in
which the Royal Society is the lead institution, 'Web of Science' aims to
prepare lists of scientific collections deposited with the nine partners for
web access.
The archivist will be based at the Royal Society and report to the Project
Manager, liaising closely with the archivists of the participating
institutions, preparing existing catalogues to collections dating from the
18th to the 20th centuries for conversion into electronic format, and
checking them on their return.
Informal enquiries to Joanna Corden, tel. 020 7451 2605
Further information and an application form is available from Human
Resources, the Royal Society.
