It's some years since I was involved in a similar exercise (for microfilming
of some very early plates from the 1850s onwards) but I think, just to start
the discussion, you would have to allow at least £10 per plate (i.e.
£100,000 insurance) and it would not be ridiculous to go as high as £500,000
given the cumulative group value.
